Experiences

All experiences are opportunities for growth
- iPEC

"Both my corporate and non-corporate experiences have been instrumental in shaping who I am today and serve as my motivation for continuous personal growth."

Public Sector Commission

In my inaugural corporate role in Australia, I encountered both surprises and valuable lessons. I swiftly adapted to the environment by embracing an agile mindset, effectively harnessing the available human and social capital. My primary focus was dedicated to researching and addressing workplace health and safety concerns, as well as devising strategies to bridge existing gaps within the Public Sector Commission.

UWA Guild, PSA DEI Officer

In my role as the UWA Guild PSA DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Officer, I effectively applied my stakeholder engagement skills. I represented postgraduate students, serving as their voice to the school board, advocating for their concerns and needs, and facilitating necessary actions. Additionally, I passionately championed the rights of international students, especially regarding employment opportunities and paid internships with diverse organizations

UniMentor, UWA

Working closely with individuals, particularly during significant life transitions, has always been a personal passion. Witnessing growth and development is incredibly rewarding, and this is precisely the experience I've had as a UniMentor at UWA. Equipped with my certification as a Core Transition Dynamics Specialist and my adeptness in people relationship management and mentoring, I effectively guided a group of nineteen official mentees and even extended support to unofficial mentees who sought my mentorship. The most gratifying aspect of my role as a UniMentor is observing the remarkable confidence that my mentees build within a single semester.

Life Coach

Embracing the roles of a Core Transition Dynamics Specialist and an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner has not only been transformative for my clients but has profoundly impacted my journey. Gaining awareness and control over my thoughts and emotions and the ability to present myself in any situation intentionally has been an incredibly liberating experience. I've discovered a newfound confidence in authentically being myself at all times, and I've witnessed how this authenticity can inspire and uplift those around me.

The most gratifying aspect of my work as a life coach is the feedback and testimonials from clients who have successfully liberated themselves from external influences that once shaped their thoughts and actions. They've embarked on a journey of self-discovery, becoming acutely aware of their stressors and, most importantly, learning to choose their energy. Witnessing these transformations is undeniably rewarding.

Shell Outpost, Brunei

For three years, I had the privilege of working at Shell Outpost in Brunei, where I played a crucial role in supporting Shell staff throughout their expatriate and repatriation journeys. My responsibilities were multifaceted, encompassing the strategic management of both internal and external stakeholders, oversight of the annual budget, and the day-to-day management of various account activities.

In addition to these responsibilities, I provided invaluable practical support to Shell employees navigating the intricacies of expatriation and repatriation to diverse global locations. I actively contributed to fostering diversity and inclusion by facilitating connections and network-building among individuals as they embarked on their international assignments.

Shell Outpost is a distinctive program within Shell Petroleum dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for businesses by effectively facilitating the transfer of staff and their families. This program plays a pivotal role in enhancing the success of international assignments and the overall well-being of Shell's global workforce.

General Volunteer, Panaga Club

During my time as a general volunteer at Panaga Club in Brunei, I had the privilege of serving in various capacities for over two years as the Chairperson of the Panaga School Brunei, as a dedicated librarian for two years, a coach for children's tennis tournaments for over two years, and as an art and craft trainer for one year. Alongside these roles, I actively engaged in various other forms of voluntary work.

My experiences as a general volunteer brought me into close collaboration with diverse groups of individuals, each with their unique ideologies, cultural backgrounds, personalities, and sexual orientations. These interactions proved instrumental in fostering an inclusive mindset and broadening my perspective, allowing me to appreciate and respect the valuable contributions that each person brings to the table.

In the process, I honed several vital skills, including people relationship management, empathy, emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability. These skills have been pivotal in my journey as a volunteer, enabling me to effectively connect with others and navigate the challenges and opportunities presented in the diverse work environment.

Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) School and Community

As a dedicated general volunteer at Nigeria LNG (Liquified Natural Gas), my journey included a variety of roles and responsibilities. For one year, I served as the Vice Chairperson of the Children's Playgroup, collaborating closely with PTA members to enhance the playgroup classes and update the learning materials for the children. Simultaneously, I dedicated over a decade of my time to volunteer efforts in the primary school and the local community.

Within the school environment, I provided invaluable support to nursery class teachers, assisting in organizing and leading various engaging activities for the children. Moreover, I took the initiative to independently coach and mentor children ranging from ages 5 to 20, thereby contributing to their personal and educational growth.

My tenure as a general volunteer at Nigeria LNG afforded me numerous opportunities to make a positive impact and foster positive change within the community and educational settings.

Church Volunteer

As a committed volunteer within the Church Sunday School, I dedicated over fourteen years to teaching and guiding children between the ages of 5 and 10. In this role, I relied on a diverse set of attributes, including active listening, effective communication, patience, unwavering dedication, a deep passion for nurturing young minds, a non-judgmental attitude, love, kindness, and an abundance of motivational energy.

My work at Sunday School was centred on creating a supportive and nurturing environment for these children, allowing them to grow spiritually and personally. I firmly believe that these qualities played a significant role in shaping the young minds under my care, helping them navigate the world with positivity and faith.

We attract people into our lives for a reason or a lifetime, but always for a growing and learning experience.
